Will the Lexus LFA Supercar Idea Take Off?

It’s not every day a company comes out with a realistic production supercar that will be intended to compete with the likes of Ferrari and Lamborghini. Seriously though, it’s time Toyota did something to breathe some life back into their boring everyday commuter car lineup. What I don’t know is if I would spend the money ($400,000 USD)  to buy this over a Ferrari.

The LFA has an incredible powerplant that was co developed with Yamaha if I am not mistaken. It features a 4.8L V10 putting out 560 HP at 8700 RPM and 354 lb/ft of torque at 6800 RPM. It has a 6 speed sequential gearbox and a body constructed of 65% carbon fiber giving it a curb weight of 3263 pounds. This tidy package will yield a 0-60 mph time of 3.7 seconds and a top speed of 201.94 mph.
